You know what phrase, "chicks of dicks"? Well my best friend chose a dick over a chick. I never thought my best friend of nearly eight years would do such a thing. It started about a year and a half ago...

My friend started to date a co-worker. At first i was really happy for her, that she was able to find someone that she cared about and vise versa. However, things started to take a weird turn last spring. She was told by the guy she was dating that he would be her boyfriend if she lost some weight because she was always mentioning how she wasn't happy with her body. When i found this out i was irrate, i thought she was beautiful as is. Right then and there was when i started to dislike him.

Shortly after this she began to change her eating patterns and excerise more. It was hard to tell if she was doing this for herself or for a guy. Soon after she dropped a couple of pounds they were official. During this time i started to see less and less of my best friend. I suppose this was expected because she usually exitted the scene when she became involved with someone.

Things started to get really weird when he asked her for 500 dollars in order to pay for his rent, the next month he asked for 700 dollars. He then gave her a diamond necklace during this time frame. Therefore, did my friend pay for the necklace? or did he? He later paid her back after the bank notified her father.

I started to get extremely concerned when she came to my house late one night crying like crazy. She told me that they were suppose to spend the whole day together. Everything started out fine. They went to the mall, and picked out a suit for him to wear to many dressy occassions comig up. She even paid for it. However, after their mall trip he went to the gym with his brother, during this time she cleaned up his room etc. He was out for three hours, and when he returned told my friend he was going to go out to the bar with his friend because they wanted to watch a sports game. My friend was really pissed off because the whole day revolved around him. She hardly knew what to say. After she left she came to my house crying because she didn't know how to stand up to him. It was there first fight. It was the first time that i realized he was controlling her.

As the months went by, i continuously saw less and less of my best friend.

My friend scheduled an appointment for sometihng she has wanted for a long time. Her family, I, and her boyfriend went with her to support her. It was during this time that i had to spend nine hours of my life with her boyfriend in the same room. It actually wasn't that bad, we had a good conversation, etc. However, things started to get weird when he drove me home after my friends appointment because we both had work early in the morning. It was during this time that he grilled me about my friends past. I answered a few questions and started to feel so uncomfortable that i pretended to sleep for two hours.

The next day my friend called me and said she couldn't believe the things that i said to her boyfriend. I was shocked, everything i said was true, no lying, i even told her what i said and she agreed with me that i didn't fabricate anytihng. According to her boyfriend i was kicking her while she was down because she couldn't defend herself. I had no idea what was going on.

Slowly and surely i stopped hearing from my friend. The last time i heard from her was on my 21st birthday. She called and said she couldn't make it because she had to go see her doctor.

Since then i have called her at least two times a week on her cell and on her house line. About two weeks into this routine her cell phone became nonexistent. I had to call her mother to get her new number, it was really embarassing because i, her best friend, had to ask her mother for her number. To this day i wonder if she was ever going to call me with the correction to her cell number.

Even after i got her new cell number, she never picked up. I called her a few times at work and everytime she had to go because she was busy.

I have never felt so ignored and betrayed by a friend. It hurts to think about it right now, how could my best friend treat me in such a horrible way?

A week ago i got a text from her saying i miss you. Since then we have been small talking through text and phone calls. Today i saw her for the first time in seven months. The only thing that i could think about for the hour and a half i was with her was will things every be the same?

<3 Ashley

Lately this has been one of my favorite topics.
As i'm sure most of you know i work at Old Navy. Since working there i have encountered many cultures and observed how they act. Please don't think i'm sexiest. But recently this seems to be the trend...

To estimate, lets say i'm working a four hour shift. During those four hours i probably ring up 200 customers. Out of those 200 customers maybe 25% of them (In stupid terms 50customers)are males paying with a hundred dollar bill. Now when i, a female, pay with a hunderd dollar bill i hand it to the cashier. That doesn't seem to be the case with the male customers. You see they do this weird ritual. They take the 100 dollar bill and fold it down the center and put it between their index finger and middle finger and kinda wave it at me. What do they think i am? A whore? Why do they fold it and wave it? Don't guys do that at stripper bars? It is disgusting.
Therefore, i believe a course of actiong must be taken ASAP. I plan on doing one of the following:
1) Snap it out of their hand
2) Return their change in the same manner it was given
3) Ask why they feel the need to fold the bill down the center and wave it infront of me
4) Tell them this is a clothing store and not a strip bar
5) All of the above

Penny for your thought and two for your experiences in the 100 dollar wave.
<3 Ashley

P.S.
Tomorrow i am going to start my Christmas list. Stay tuned.

I need your help. First, before i give away the question in which i need advice on, i must give you the evidence.

My Fall 2006 School Schedule

Monday
12:15-1:20 General Psychology (Major)
1:30-2:20 Microbiology (Major)
3:45-6:45 Microbiology Lab (Major)

Tuesday
2:00-3:50 Old Testament Prophets (Major)
7:00-9:00 Emerging Diseases

Wednesday
12:15-1:20 General Psychology (Major)
1:30-2:20 Microbiology
4:30-7:00 Fundamentals of Music (General Ed- Visual Arts)

Thursday
2:00-3:50 Old Testament Prophets

Friday
12:15-1:20 General Psychology (Major)
1:30-2:20 Microbiology

As you see my course load is getting really intense because it is my junior year. For the first time i'm taking seventeen units. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday i have a night class. Which makes my studying and work schedule kinda tricky.

Now listen up because this is what i need advice on. As of right now i have two jobs. I work at Old Navy and TCBY. I have decided that i need to quit one of the above jobs in order to give myself time to study and time to myself. Therefore, i have created pro and con list about each job. However, before i get into that i am going to give you a brief history of each job.

First, Old Navy. I have been working there for three years. I started as a seasonal employee way back in the day, and since then i've moved up the ladder quite nicely. I am now a Supervisor.

Secondly, TCBY. I have been working there since Feburary (I think). I started this job because last semester i was only taking twelve cerdits and had a lot of spare time on my hands. So i decided, why not make some extra dough.

So here we go. The pro and con list for each job.

Old Navy
Pros
1) Discount at Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic
2) Good Income
3) Work around my school schedule

Cons
1) Managment
2) Customers
3) Annual Raise
4) Stressful

TCBY
Pros
1) Easy Works
2) Tips
3) Right down the street from school
4) Free Food
5) Friendly Customers

Cons
1) The pay (well compared to Old Navy)
2) The managers don't speak very good English, so sometimes it is difficult

In conclusion, i have made up my mind. On Thrusday i am going to give my two weeks. Can you guess on which one?
Let me know what you think.
<3 Ashley

Those were very good suggestions, thanks guys. However, i have discovered a way to get a discount...i think. This is my idea...

So the other night when i was in the back room at Old Navy, i discovered there was a coupon booklet! And low and behold, there was a coupon for The Body Shop. If you buy thirty dollars worth you get five dollars off. Now here is the tricky part. Should i buy my lotion and whatever else to get to thirty dollars and then go to another store and return the "whatever else" or find something nice to give to my friend as an additional birthday present? Or just pass altogether?
Let me know what you think.
<3 Ashley
PS Just an additional comment, i can't get this lotion off of my mind. I indulged my hands with this wondering almond body butter. My hands stayed moist for hours. When i went home i went online to see how much it was. Now don't forget i'm a bargin shopper.
Once upon a time, there was one boy and one girl. They were elfs who liked gingersnaps that snapped like popcorn and firewood in eggnog. They loved watching porn with a penguin who likes doggie-style biscuits. Together they hopped and skipped away into the Wal-Mart in the green prarie. They wished upon Satan and his beasts who hated the eternal love. Saddened they were as Yoda would say. They shopped for rollbacks and sour cell phones. Happy they were to jump and pee on a beanbag they was upset and hungry for hamburgers that tasted like N----s. Unfortunately, runny noises became voilently outraged at young prostitutes who ran a Mccy-D's. The End

This semester is going to be crazy. I'm taking 17cerdits (six classes). Genes and Development, Intermediate American Sign Language, General Chemistry and Lab, Colonial America, and last but not least Sewing. In addition, on Mondays i will be working the night shift at Saint John's Regional Hospital. Furthermore, i will still be working at Old Navy during the weekends.

I'm terrified that i will not have enough time to do everything to my best ability.

I joined Gold's Gym once again, $39/month. And i get the option of putting my account on hold in case i won't be in town (for example, winter and summer breaks).

<3 Ashley
